Review of ACT YOUR AGE, EVE BROWN by Talia Hibbert.

ACT YOUR AGE, EVE BROWN by Talia Hibbert.

"When are you going to act your age, Eve?" p 11

Another Brown Sister?! Oh, you bet it! and might I dare say my favorite???? I don't it's hard to say because I love this series soooo much and love our trio of leading ladies. But maybe you should decide for yourself and read these amazing and heartwarming stories! But alas let's dive in! Eve Brown is like most younger sisters, they don't have all the answers for where their life is going and they constantly feel as though they are competing with trying to be like their older sisters. Can you tell I'm the youngest? anyways. Eve bounces around from job to job trying to find her purpose and her passion. When one morning she awakes to her parents telling her it's time to grow up. Eve, in a stressed-induced drive ends up in a quiet town and parks at a cute B&B when she sees a for-hire sign. Well, why not right? She interviews for the sensible and always serious Jacob Wayne. Jacob is not fooled by the giddy and smiley Eve and at first, rejects her but then he is all but forced to choose her to be his chef. Have we heard this story before? Hallmark? Idk but I'm here for it!

Jacob and Eve's relationship is all hate at first but slowly morphs into something neither saw coming. This store is so sweet and kind and heartwarming and SEXY boy oh boy! You know that scene if you've read it. the first one?  Wow oh wow! But my favorite thing about this book has to be Jacob's inner monologue he's so focused on sometimes naughty things and he's really likable in every sense. Eve is full of "sunshine and rainbows" as Jacob beautiful puts it. And she's so relatable. Hibbert is really brilliant about forming fully formed and well-rounded men for her leading ladies. So all and all this book is so good and sweet and funny! Go read it!

Also, are we getting a book about the Montrose sisters? maybe Gigi? I'll take either! Please, Talia!!

Stand out quote:

"The world would be a much better place if they stopped congratulating themselves on being normal and started to accept that there were countless different normals." p 156

Some questions to ponder:

  1. On page 109, Eve talks about work and working, do you agree with what she says? Disagree?
  2. In what ways does Eve or Jacob doubt themselves?
  3. Why are Eve and Jacob attracted to one another?
  4. Do you find yourself lacking passion or purpose? In what ways does Eve offer solutions to this?

Thanks for stopping by and do check out the other Brown Sister's stories!
