review of HOW TO WALK AWAY BY KATHERINE CENTER
HOW TO WALK AWAY BY KATHERINE CENTER
What a lovely story, Center has given us here! This story was filled with empowering and heartbreaking moments. The characters we met are funny and relatable, you are rooting for them for the entire novel. It's very clear (to me at least) that Center did a ton of research on this storyline and it shows in a very beautiful way. She gives so much detail every step of the story. And can we talk about how she started this story off with such a BANG! But my favorite thing about this novel was how Center challenges the normal and expected idea of happy endings. This story is about survival, self-love, romance, and empowerment. You won't regret picking this book up!
You meet Margaret Jacobsen, a woman who is about to have all of her goals reached in a matter of days, and she can see it all so clearly, her boyfriend is about to propose, she is about to accept her dream job, everything is falling into place. But Margaret is about to learn that life can change in a flash. And everything she saw for herself in her future is gone. She has to accept her new reality no matter how much she wants to crawl in a hole and let the world pass her by. But through the help of her estranged sister, controlling mother, and stubborn and frustrating physical trainer, Margaret will have to learn to walk away from what she thought her life was supposed to be. Margaret is full of sassy remarks and has a very relatable outlook on her situation. It's a book about finding the courage within yourself and finding the will to love yourself and to love every version you have.

Some questions to get you thinking!
- Do you think her parents were right to hide the truth from Margaret in the beginning?
- Do you think Ian was right for his decision?
- What other characters had to learn to walk away?
